The latest books I have read…..

1. Jeffrey Archer- Paths of Glory
“This is the story of a man who loved two women, and one killed him”
This is sad but beautiful book about a man’s greatest dreams, how he achieved it but none knew.
This book is mostly about mountains and climbing said mountains so if you love them then this is one book to have but if not, its still a great read.

2. Jean Sasson- Princess
This is one of my favorite books; it talks about life of a girl and woman living in Saudi Arabia.
The main protagonist is the wealthy princess of the Royal family, how her views are different from everyone else.
This is a must read to all the feminists out there (I am proud to say I am one too).

3. Sidney Sheldon- Are You Afraid of the Dark.
Not exactly Sheldon’s best works but if you are an environmentalist or it’s just a hobby then this is the book for you.

There’s one thing I haven’t really understood till now……picture this.
You’re sitting across the table talking to your hot date.
He asks about your interests.
You tell him books among other things.
He looks at you like you are a freak.
You ask him what happened.
He says that he can’t believe that you read books.
You ask him why is it so hard to believe.
He replies that you don’t look and act like a nerd…….
I mean like……..HELLO, if a person has a life doesn’t mean he or she can’t read books……

COUTTS London Jewellery Week kicks off this Monday with an unprecedented amount of jewellery-centric events in the capital. Beginning with a star-studded party on Monday night at Altitude 360, London's newest roof-top bar, guests will have a bird's eye view of the London Eye, which will be lit up like a dazzling diamond for the week.
Ten of jewellery's most promising new talents - including Missoma and Ana de Costa - have been invited to create a one-off collection in collaboration with Swarovski and the World Land Trust, which will be exhibited in the Designer Jewellery Room at Liberty.
One of the week's biggest draws will be the first ever Hatton Garden Festival - from Thursday June 11 to Saturday June 13 - which will see the capital's historic jewellery quarter open up with a trail between different "hubs" showing the variety of different styles and crafts in the industry.
The Garden will take on a street party atmosphere on Saturday, with curb-side jewellery demonstrations, children's workshops, a fine food market and themed walks.
In Covent Garden, Kabiri will be hosting The Story So Far, an exhibition to showcase the talents (and gorgeous jewellery), of Central Saint Martins graduate Ana De Costa, the Young Jewellery Designer of the Year of 2008.
In addition to all of this dazzling activity, Theo Fennell will be hosting a party to celebrate his partnership with the Royal College of Art, Pomellato will be teaming up with the Metropolitan hotel for themed afternoon teas throughout the week and Treasure - an exciting showcase of 40 jewellers - will be returning to the Flower Cellars in Covent Garden.

Jason Wu Resort 2010: Convertible Chic

New York – In the cheerful spirit of Resort 2010, Jason Wu was all smiles on Thursday, June 4, as he showed his collection in a garden-spot in New York, where beams of natural sunlight that crept in through the clouds only further accented his 'highlight' pieces.
In a collection that honed in on a few electric colors, Wu let us taste the rainbow with fan-pleated skirts in both bright red and green, and saved the 'oldie but goodie' highlighter-yellow for the end with a peplum shiftdress that was worth the wait. Pairing these brights with muted shades of grey, Wu played with contrary forces, mixing things up to attain that contemporary look. As he explained, "I love that we paired a jersey T-shirt and a luxurious draped skirt with a diamond bracelet."
Folds were plentiful, as envelope sleeves gave dimension up top, drawing the eye to a modestly sexy neckline, in tandem as pleats and drape skirts gave structure from below the ever-present belt. Blurring the lines between day and evening wear, these electric and shapely pieces can take any woman, at anytime to anywhere. "This is how the modern girl wears it. There's no definition. It's about really convertible clothes," said Wu after the show.
Wu drew inspirations for the season from Iris Apfel, an eccentrically fashionable textile expert renowned for mixing colors and prints, as well as high and low fashion. Her exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2006 resonated with Wu, who recalled that, "She was so full of color and texture and with her sense of style, I imagined what a Jason Wu girl would do when she raids Iris Apfel's closet."
A dove feather-embroidered tulle shell, as well as a red and pink petaled coat, authentically reminiscent of real flower petals, seemed to really channel in the Iris Apfel flair that Wu was aiming for. His 'Jason Wu girl' is about being "luxurious, chic and truly modern", and no matter what convertible she's riding in to whatever destination, Resort 2010 will be just that.

Wal Mart and Miley Cyrus

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) –Wal-Mart is planning to launch a fashion line with Miley Cyrus, about the time back-to-school shopping begins.
Cyrus, the star of the hit Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," will team with designer Max Azria, of BCBGMAXAZRIA, to create a line of budget-friendly items: graphic tees, tops, pants, shoes and accessories, all under $20.
In a statement, Wal-Mart said the line will reflect the rock-n-roll roots of 16-year-old Cyrus, who has scored musical hits with her Hannah Montana albums and enjoyed strong success at film box offices with her "Hannah Montana: The Movie."
Fashion designer now becomes the latest title for the teen star, who has singer, actress and author already under her belt. "I love creating looks that are all about personal expression and individuality," Cyrus said in a statement.
The line is expected to hit Wal-Mart stores in August, just in time for back-to-school shopping, and Wal-Mart also is sponsoring Cyrus' North America concert tour that starts in September.
